Why weren't the year-over-year increases in cost of UR, IMR, and litigation over treatment disputes revealed in this report? Previous data showed that over 50% of every medical dollar was spent supporting the delay/denial industries. Also conspicuously absent is the cost to California employers for lost productivity while their employees wait for necessary treatment recommended by administrators' own MPN doctors. Genuine reform only occurs when ALL of the data is collected and reported - including whether injured workers and employers are actually being served, or only being used as vehicles to jack up premiums to employers and deliver less and less to injured workers.
